Sakhalin Island is the most remote region of our country, a real edge of the world, located 6,500 kilometers from Moscow. The flight takes 8 hours, the time difference with the capital is the same. In addition to the island itself, the Sakhalin Region also includes the Kuril Islands. In the south, the region borders Japan.

The climate on Sakhalin is moderate monsoon, marine, with dry, rather cold winters and warm, humid summers. The best time to visit natural attractions is from June to September. In winter, the ski resort "Gorny Vozdukh" is open for sports enthusiasts in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. The weather is unpredictable in any season, which should be taken into account when planning a trip. However, in our apartments, you will feel comfortable in any weather.

People of various nationalities have lived on Sakhalin for centuries. Before the island was developed by Europeans and Japanese, the main population was made up of Ainu, Nivkhs, Evenks, and Nanais. The first Russian settlers appeared on Sakhalin in the early 19th century, and during Japanese rule (1905-1945), Koreans arrived here. As a result, a unique culture was formed here, organically absorbing the traditions of many peoples.
