From August 18 to 20, Kuching, Malaysia, will host one of the oldest industry exhibitions in the Asia‑Pacific region. Our country will showcase its opportunities at the booth of the national tourism brand Discover Russia, which covers an area of almost 150 sq. meters and will bring together more than 30 participants from ten Russian regions.
Dmitry Smolnikov, Deputy General Director of CSR:
Over the past three years, CSR experts, together with the Ministry of Economic Development, have been uniting regions, tour operators, hotels, resorts, transport companies, and travel services under a single brand at Russia’s stand. This year, representatives of the authorities and businesses from Moscow, Tatarstan, Kalmykia, Dagestan, the Vladimir, Ryazan, Irkutsk, Amur, and Murmansk regions, as well as the Yamalo‑Nenets Autonomous District, will travel to Malaysia. The plan is not only to introduce foreign partners to Russian routes but also to immediately move on to discussing joint programs for year‑round mountain recreation, medical tourism, youth travel, and premium offers.
At the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching venue, guests and exhibition participants will be presented with ready‑made products for individual and organized travelers. For example, the Rosa Khutor resort will introduce guests to the possibilities of year‑round mountain recreation, while the Metropol and AZIMUT Moscow Cluster hotels will showcase Russian hotel services. The tour operators FUN&SUN and “Tour Operator Rus” will present excursion, beach, ski, and combined programs across the country’s regions, as well as trips along the Golden Ring. The European Medical Center will introduce international partners to the opportunities of premium medical tourism in Russia, taking into account the cultural and religious traditions of the guests.
The federal passenger company will tell you about cruise tourist trains that allow you to explore several territories in a single trip. Among the options for foreign tourists are the following routes: “Pearl of the Caucasus,” “Baikal Express,” “Russian North,” “Blooming Steppe,” as well as trips to Karelia, Siberia, the Silver Necklace route, and the Golden Ring.
Our new participant and long‑standing partner is the ANO “More Than a Journey” together with the ANO “Directorate of the World Youth Festival,” which will present youth tourism in Russia at a specially branded section of the booth. A video tour with a guide through key locations for young people will be available for guests.
The booth will also feature modern services for independent tourists and the professional community. The Visit Russia platform, which helps international tourists obtain information about entry rules, visas, payment methods, and mobile communication, as well as book hotels, air tickets, and travel insurance. The travel consolidator Tripseller will present its B2B2C platform, which combines a tour marketplace and a SaaS solution to simplify the work of tour operators, guides, and travel agents.
As part of the business program, on August 18, at the PTM Knowledge Forum, Dmitry Smolnikov will speak as a panelist in the discussion “Building Impactful Partnerships Across Borders”. On the same day, CSR and Discover Russia will hold a Private Networking Lunch with a presentation of the national tourism brand and tourism products for foreign partners.
On August 19 and 20, a series of B2B meetings is planned — the program includes 5 rounds of negotiations, as well as general Seller‑meet‑Buyer sessions. This format will allow regions and companies not only to present their products but also to discuss the launch of joint programs, the inclusion of Russian regions in the catalogs of foreign tour operators, and promotion in the markets of the Asia‑Pacific region.
This year, at PATA Travel Mart, the organizers expect more than 10,000 business meetings between buyers and exhibitors representing over 40 tourist destinations.
