Central Square and Tsvetnoy Boulevard
You should start your acquaintance with Tyumen from the Central Square, which is an important part of city life. The square has a monument to Lenin, as well as the buildings of the Tyumen Regional Duma and the regional administration. This is a significant place where various events and holidays are often held.
If you cross Lenin Street, you will find yourself on Tsvetnoy Boulevard - a kind of analogue of Arbat, attracting both locals and tourists. Here you can note the Tyumen Circus, which pleases spectators with bright performances, as well as monuments to famous Soviet clowns: Yuri Nikulin, Oleg Popov and Karandash. These elements create an atmosphere of fun and joy, inviting guests to enjoy art.
In summer, the fountain "Seasons" is especially worth paying attention to on the square. It is not only a visual decoration, but also an important element of the city's cultural life. In the evening, the fountain turns into a real LED show program: jets of water are effectively illuminated and dance to music, creating a mesmerizing spectacle. Gathering people around the fountain is always a lively atmosphere, filled with smiles and positive emotions.
Siberian Cats Square
If you turn off Tsvetnoy Boulevard onto Pervomayskaya Street and head along the odd-numbered side, you can reach the Siberian Cats Square in a few minutes. This unique square is dedicated to the cats that once saved the Hermitage from a rat invasion, arriving in Leningrad during the siege.
These Siberian cats, famous for their talent for catching rodents, became real heroes of their time. In Tyumen, a park with gilded sculptures of cats installed on granite pedestals was dedicated to this event. Walking around this place, you can admire the original sculptures, as well as learn about the history of these animals through information boards.
Tura Embankment
The Tura River Embankment is a multi-level space about four kilometers long and one of the most popular places for walking. Here you can meet both locals and visitors who enjoy the beautiful views and fresh air. In winter, the embankment is illuminated, and despite the frosty wind, walks here remain pleasant.
In summer, the embankment really comes alive: blooming flowerbeds, well-groomed greenery, comfortable benches, a fountain in the form of a waterfall and monuments associated with the history of Tyumen make this place especially attractive for recreation.
In addition, on the embankment there is a pedestrian cable-stayed bridge of lovers, which has become an iconic place for wedding photo shoots. Newlyweds traditionally hang locks on its railings as a sign of their love and devotion, which adds a romantic note to the atmosphere of this place. Walking along the embankment allows you not only to enjoy the views, but also to feel the spirit of the city, its history and culture.
Gilevskaya Grove
Gilevskaya Grove is one of the most visited recreation areas for residents of Tyumen. This picturesque forest park is located on the high bank of Lake Krivoye and pleases visitors with its nature. The Voynovka River flows through the grove, creating a cozy atmosphere.
In summer, the Gilevskaya Grove becomes a wonderful place for walks: there are landscaped pedestrian paths and bike paths, allowing you to enjoy the fresh air and the beauty of nature. The park is ideal for family outings and romantic meetings against the backdrop of picturesque landscapes. In winter, the grove attracts ski lovers, offering equipped ski trails.
For the convenience of visitors, the park has gazebos, benches and toilets. Entrance to the Gilevskaya Grove is free, making it accessible to everyone. This place is perfect for both active recreation and quiet walks in nature.
