This floor is dedicated to Alexander Pushkin's fairy tales: in them, the poet acted not just as a storyteller, but as a brilliant innovator who created the standard for the Russian literary fairy tale.
Every room and hall on this floor is decorated with works exploring Alexander Pushkin’s fairy tales. He took folk plots as a basis, but stripped them of archaisms, gave the characters psychological depth, and created an incredibly musical, light, yet rich language.
Through painting and graphics, we strive to showcase the richness of this world, where the folkloric element is organically subordinated to a strict poetic design.
The presented works reveal the true depth of these pieces: they are interesting not only to children, as they contain deep reflections on power, human vices, and fate, making these tales immortal masterpieces of world literature.
