Legendary Moscow hotel Metropol is now headed by Mikhail Gitman. Previously, he managed AZIMUT Hotels’ flagship property in Moscow on Smolenskaya Square.
In his new role, Mikhail Gitman will be responsible for the hotel’s operations, development and strengthening its position in the market. Located in the heart of Moscow, near the Kremlin, the hotel continues its century-old tradition of providing guests with the highest level of service while setting trends in the luxury hotel segment.
Mikhail Gitman brings more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, including nine years with AZIMUT Hotels. He previously held senior management positions at Hilton Garden Inn Perm, BS Hospitality Management and Best Western Country Resort. Since October 2016, Mikhail has headed AZIMUT City Hotel Smolenskaya Moscow, where he achieved impressive performance results. Since 2024, he has also served as the chain’s Director of Projects, overseeing the implementation of the company’s strategic development projects. During his time with the chain, he has demonstrated a strong commitment to AZIMUT Hotels’ management principles and delivered strong results.
Metropol is a landmark of Moscow’s real estate market and one of the city’s most renowned hotels. Built in 1905, it is a federally protected historical and architectural monument. While preserving its heritage and traditions, Metropol continues to evolve. The hotel’s renovated rooms offer guests sophistication, comfort and advanced technology, meeting international standards for luxury hotels.
