AZIMUT Hotels once again served as a partner of the Moscow Marathon, which brought together more than 45,000 participants from cities across Russia and other countries this year. AZIMUT City Hotel Smolenskaya warmly welcomed athletes from the elite field. The hotel also hosted briefings and meetings between athletes and journalists.

At the marathon’s start village, the company set up a lounge area featuring a real bed where participants could rest and recharge after the race. A cosy station serving berry tea added to the welcoming atmosphere. Lounge guests could also embark on a virtual journey across Russia and discover fascinating facts about different cities by taking part in a themed quiz. The AZIMUT Hotels tent hosted games and interactive activities, with prizes from the hotel chain and its partners up for grabs.

The AZIMUT Hotels team supported runners beyond the start village, cheering them on directly along the route. This year, the Moscow Marathon’s classic 42.2 km distance took participants through the capital’s central streets. On their way to the finish line, runners passed the AZIMUT hotel on Smolenskaya Square and some of Moscow’s iconic landmarks, including the Bolshoi Theatre, the Kremlin and the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour. For many participants, the race was not only a test of endurance but also an opportunity to see the city from a new perspective.

Supporting sport is an integral part of AZIMUT Hotels’ philosophy. The company strives to create comfortable conditions for an active lifestyle and support sporting initiatives and events that bring people together, inspire achievement and open up new opportunities to travel across Russia. The partnership with the Moscow Marathon, which reached its ninth edition in 2026, is a continuation of this commitment and reflects the company’s contribution to the development of mass-participation sport.
