The atmosphere of the renewed bar artfully brings together different eras: the historic space of an early 20th-century hotel is reinterpreted as a contemporary cocktail bar, forming a unified concept of the Chaliapin Grand Lobby & Bar.

Today, Chaliapin continues the hotel’s bar tradition, evolving from a café-style setting into a fully developed cocktail destination. Since receiving its name in 1991, the bar has remained a point of attraction for guests for decades before being reimagined through a large-scale renovation led by the internationally renowned design studio Denniston.

The updated space connects the historic entrance interiors with a contemporary classic style and understated luxury. The central feature is a bar counter with an extensive collection of spirits, architecturally extended into an elegant glass canopy above. Marble floors with intricate patterns, fireplaces framed in refined bronze, bespoke lighting, and handcrafted stained glass add depth and character to the setting.

The cocktail menu was created by the head bartender in collaboration with the European bar El Copitas and is inspired by key moments in the life of Fyodor Chaliapin. Each cocktail reflects a specific mood, translating emotion into layered flavor compositions and offering a thoughtful and immersive experience.

The bar regularly hosts guest shifts by leading bars and mixologists, along with music evenings and intimate parties. It becomes a setting for refined celebrations where gastronomy, sound, and atmosphere come together, creating a vibrant and memorable experience. Each visit reveals a new dimension of Chaliapin, shaping a place guests are drawn to return to.
