The museum is housed in a Baroque building erected between 1777 and 1779 for the Voronezh governor. This luxurious mansion, often referred to as the "Voronezh Palace," is recognized as a historical and cultural monument of federal significance.
The museum's collection contains over 23,000 exhibits. The exhibition features works of ancient Egyptian art, ancient artifacts, works by Russian and Western European artists of the 18th-20th centuries, icons, graphic art, decorative and applied arts, and sculpture.
Over 100 exhibits are equipped with QR codes, allowing visitors to view a free video guide. The augmented reality app "Artefact" is also available in the main exhibition halls, providing detailed information about the exhibits when you point your smartphone or tablet camera at them.
We also recommend visiting interesting and very picturesque places in the vicinity of Voronezh: the natural and archaeological complex "Divnogorie", the park "White Well", Voronezh Biosphere Reserve.
